Partially Successful Print
Incorrect Home position/parallelism
The printer is completely calibrated and tested during fabrication. However, in rare cases, the calibration needs to be carried out by the printer owner to guarantee uniformly accurate build results.
Perform the Home position calibration. To do that:
1. On the Home screen of your Envision One CS, select Settings > Move & Calibration > Home Calibration.
- if you see the screen with a selection of Manual or Automatic calibration, we recommend proceeding with Automatic Home Position Calibration
- if you see the screen of material tray selection, proceed referring to the Manual Home Position Calibration
2. If the problem persists, please contact Service & Support.
Incorrect material handling
Incorrect handling of materials can cause poor surface quality. To avoid this:
1. Make sure you prepare your materials properly for printing. Refer to Adding the Material for details.
2. Refer to Maintain ETEC Materials to make sure you maintain your material correctly.
3. If the problem persists, please contact Service & Support.
Expired or damaged material tray
The aluminum material tray is consumable with an approximate lifespan of up to 1000 hours of print time or 3 months of use, whichever comes first.
To ensure the quality of printed models, order a new material tray before the current tray expires or becomes damaged. You can check the replacement signs on the Cleaning Envision One Material Tray page.
Also, avoid potential material contamination. Cleaners or water are not allowed in the material tray. To avoid total contamination of a bottle, have a separate bottle to pour the material into when you aren’t using it so you don’t pour it back into the fresh bottle of material.
Only the supports adhered to the build platform. Possible reasons:
Inadequate supports
Correct support generation is crucial for a high-quality print. There are two ways to generate the supports in Envision One RP software:
1. Make sure you generate supports correctly referring to the links above.
2. If the supports were generated correctly and the part still has issues sticking to the support, either increase the tip thickness or add more supports. You can add more supports or increase the beam spacing manually so all the supports are closer together.
3. If the problem persists, please contact Service & Support.
The surface quality of the models is poor. Possible reasons:
Dust accumulated on the projector
You may need to clean the projector lens under the following situations:
- The projector lens has visible dust and/or debris on its surface.
- Printed parts have vertical holes through them, and this issue was not resolved by the following – cleaning the material tray, replacing the material tray.
- Printed parts have a textured surface, and this issue was not resolved by the following: verifying the buildstyle, verifying the material is stored and used at the recommended temperatures, cleaning the material tray, adjusting the light intensity, replacing the material tray.
- The projector cannot reach the required light intensity, and this issue was not resolved by the following: adjusting the projector brightness, updating firmware, updating controller software.
1. Clean the projector lens following the instruction on the Cleaning Projector Lens page.
2. If the problem persists, please contact Sevice & Support.
