AdHoc is a type of on-demand device-to-device network. In ad hoc mode, you can set up a wireless connection directly to another computer or printer without having to connect to a Wi-Fi access point or router. It allows you to load the jobs to a printer that has no Internet connection.
Tune Up Ad Hoc
Notice: Once Ad Hoc is chosen, Wi-Fi is disabled on the printer.
To set Ad Hoc on the printer:
1. Go to Settings > Network Settings > Wi-Fi > AdHoc.
→ The following screen appears.
Notice: The Name field, which is the printer’s name, is set automatically.
2. To change the password for the AdHoc, select the Password field.
→ The following screen appears.
3. Type the new password and select Save.
Important: Your password must contain at least 8 up to 20 characters and must not contain spaces.
Notice: Selecting the Reset button resets all passwords and enables connecting to the printer without entering the password.
Connect to Ad Hoc
1. Open the network settings on your computer or another device.
2. Find the hotspot name that matches the printer’s name and select it.
3. Type the password from the AdHoc tab on the printer into the Password field.
4. Press Save.
→ The wireless connection to the printer is successfully established.
